Bachelor of Science - Biological Sciences (C100)

Our research-led Biological Sciences degree offers a wide range of choices and flexibility, allowing students to select modules from various subjects available at the School. The program covers a diverse range of subjects in the biological sciences, including animal and plant biology, microbiology, genetics, systems biology, ecology, disease, behavior, neuroscience, zoology, developmental and stem cell biology, and evolution. In addition, provide field courses as part of our Ecology and Conservation module, offering opportunities to study River Ecology in Wales, Tropical Marine Ecology in Tobago, and Rainforest Biodiversity in Malaysia.

Students have the freedom to tailor their degree according to their evolving interests, focusing on specific aspects of biology or exploring a broader range of topics. The degree title can be customized until the final year, where students can choose to continue with BSc Biological Sciences or switch to another BSc bioscience degree. Alternatively, they can opt for a more specialized degree title, such as BSc Biological Sciences (Genetics) or BSc Biological Sciences (Zoology). The final degree title is determined by the module selection, and students receive guidance from their Personal Tutor throughout the decision-making process. Furthermore, students may have the opportunity to transfer to there four-year MBiol integrated master's degree, which serves as an excellent foundation for a future career in scientific research.
