What you will study

London Metropolitan University's Addiction and Mental Health MSc degree adopts a multidisciplinary approach to addiction studies within a mental health context. Students will consider theoretical and practical issues relating to the main factors influencing addiction from biological, social, cultural and psychological perspectives. The knowledge and skills students will gain during the course will allow students to pursue or advance their career in the fields of addiction and mental health issues. This course will equip students with an up-to-date knowledge of addiction within a mental health context, as it addresses addiction from psychological, physiological, political and legal points of view. It also provides a strong scientific basis and teaches critical analysis of policy and law from an evidence-based perspective. The role of research is continually emphasized and students will become an active participant in the creation of knowledge. An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
