Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Sport and Exercise Science

The BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science programme is designed to equip students with the skills required to develop as practitioners within the sport and exercise industry. Graduates may pursue careers supporting elite athletes in achieving peak performance or working with individuals from diverse backgrounds to help them meet their health and fitness goals.

The course also provides a pathway to postgraduate study, including programmes such as MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition and MRes Sport and Exercise Science. It explores the scientific foundations of sport and exercise, drawing on disciplines such as nutrition, physiology, psychology, and biomechanics, and applying them to areas including sports performance, physical activity, health, and wellbeing.

Students engage with a combination of discipline-specific and multidisciplinary modules, enabling them to develop a broad and well-rounded understanding of the field. In addition, the programme supports the development of employability skills through opportunities for independent and collaborative work within communities of practice, involving peers, academic staff, and external stakeholders.
