Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Law and Social Care (L4M1)
Liverpool Hope University - Hope Park
What you will study
Law shapes the society and influences every aspect of people lives. It defines obligations and legal requirements, serves to regulate and define relationships and provides a means of redress when problems arise. To study Law is not only to study a challenging subject, but also to study the rules, principles and policies that underpin society. This degree gives students a theoretical and philosophical grounding in Law, as well as the ability to engage in its practical study and application.
By studying Law, students will gain an understanding of the fundamental principles, theories and key ideas that underpin the law in England and Wales. They also learn about the way Public Law provides the legal framework within which government and administration functions, the structure of Law and Government under which people live, and the values of democracy, rule of law and constitutionalism that underpin that structure.
There is a growing need for well-trained, multi-skilled graduates able to respond to the changing demands within the Social Care employment and research sectors. As such the Social Care team recognize the great benefit of collaborating with service users, health and social care employers and stakeholders in this sector.
Curriculum content will develop students’ knowledge and understanding of Social Care through an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach. They will be encouraged to develop a critical approach to a range of social care discourses.
