Master of Science - Applied Physical Activity and Health

This MSc Applied Physical Activity and Health is set in the context of the current health climate, where there is an emphasis on the need to develop quality health services for all ages across the health and social sector.

Throughout the course students will be supported by the enthusiastic and highly qualified academics who perform regular clinical investigations within the National Health Service and bring this experience into the teaching. Guest lectures take place from experts such as clinical physiotherapists, cardiac rehabilitators and public health project developers.

Students will have access to new state of the art specialist sport and exercise laboratories where they can carry out assessments such as electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography, vascular sonography, cardiopulmonary exercise testing and autonomic function testing.

This course is for those that wish to enhance both academic knowledge and advance their practical skills in the field of Physical Activity and Health. The MSc in Applied Physical Activity and Health provides students with an extensive applied and practical experience. The University want to fully utilise their skills and expertise, and provide students with further opportunities whilst studying on this course. The Section of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences has allocated a minimum of 200 hours of paid work that will be delivered by students studying at postgraduate level in the Section.
