The Computer and Information Science Department offers Bachelor of Science - Computer Science in Software Engineering: the systematic approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software.
Software engineers analyze, design, and program software. They are concerned with issues that play a vital role in software development, such as quality, novelty, creativity, standards, teamwork, and professional practice. Students who are interested in large-scale commercial software development or in managing software projects, consider software engineering.
Software engineering brings a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software. Drawing on computer science and mathematics as foundations, software engineering seeks to develop systematic models and reliable techniques for producing high-quality software.
