Bachelor of Laws - Law with Finance

Study Law with Finance and join a challenging, vibrant and friendly community, led by an experienced team of academics and practitioners, including solicitors, barristers and international lawyers.

This degree will enable students to progress to the vocational stage of lawyer’s training, to qualify as either a solicitor or barrister. This original and innovative course has been designed in consultation with senior managers to give students both a theoretical and practical experience.

As part of the degree, students will have the option to get involved with practical justice including opportunities to shadow a local judge and experience live mediations from the in-house Mediation Clinic. Through the strong links with the local community, Citizens Advice, and local courts, students will have the opportunity to act as a Community Legal Companion for unrepresented parties at court. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on work experience in a legal setting.

This course combines the traditional study of law with a progressive approach, meaning students will experience formal directed teaching in the form of lectures, seminars and tutorials, with indirect learning and teaching methods including discussions, student-led seminars, peer-assisted learning, individual and group role play and mooting.
