University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
The College of Arts and Sciences introduces learners who are undecided to an array of disciplines to help them make a decision about their major.
Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of majors so that they can make an informed choice about their area of study. Many times they encounter an area of study in their first semesters that they are surprised to find they end up really enjoying.
Graduates are not pressed to select a major right away. They have time to determine one that complements their interests and abilities. A final decision on a major does not need to be made until the end of the first semester of their sophomore year.
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth help students choose a major:- • They will consult with faculty and career advisors to identify where they want to go in their career. • They will work with the Career Development Center to self-assess and explore their interests as well as various majors and careers. • They will work closely with a professional advisor who will assist them in selecting a major. • They can participate in student organizations that can help them focus their interests. • They can gain hands-on work experience through internships.
