Overview
The Department d’Études françaises et québécoises emphasizes the acquisition and improvement of the French language at all proficiency levels, serving beginner, intermediate, and advanced students as well as native speakers. The program is structured into five levels, each including at least two courses in grammar and writing, along with a course dedicated to oral comprehension and expression. This structure provides students with a coherent and progressive learning path, enabling them to understand, read, speak, and write French accurately by the end of the program.
The Major in French Language and Francophone Cultures is designed for Francophone and advanced allophone students who wish to deepen their knowledge and mastery of the French language while exploring diverse forms of cultural expression across the Francophone world, with particular emphasis on Quebec.
