Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Economics and Politics (CC23)

Liverpool Hope University - Hope Park

What you will study

This is an exciting time to study Economics: great ideological debates, policy decisions and technological changes are taking place that impact people lives, ranging from the direction of globalization and international trade and trade restrictions, to trends in economic inequality, the environment and climate change, the gender pay-gap, migration flows, economic integration, financial crises, and the challenges posed by the recent Covid-19 crisis.

Liverpool Hope University's Economics program will delve in to an in-depth study of real economic issues like the above, based on a solid foundation of an eclectic economic theory, and an understanding of how economic policy is formulated. This will enable students to gain the analytical and critical evaluation skills needed to recognize how national and global issues affect a society’s welfare.

Politics affects everyone. It is central to human life and human affairs. It is fundamental to how people organize and govern themselves and to how they resolve conflicts. The decisions people make as political communities, who makes them and how, have consequences for how they live, from questions of war and peace, the distribution of wealth, the rights, freedoms, responsibilities, the access to education, transport and health care.
