Murray State University
The Journalism and Mass Communications department is one of only 111 programs in the U.S. and one of three in Kentucky accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). The department takes pride in maintaining accreditation because it signifies that they are meeting high standards and going above and beyond to create an environment for student success.
The journalism program at Murray State University prepares students for the evolving media landscape of the future. Students learn to write and produce news for various media platforms, including print, broadcast, online, and mobile. They also gain skills in shooting, producing, and editing video for broadcast and online outlets. A journalism degree equips graduates with the necessary skills to excel in a constantly changing media environment and to effectively communicate important stories.
