Master of Laws (LLM) - International Commercial Law

University of Brighton - Moulsecoomb

What you will study

The International Commercial Law LLM examines current developments in international commercial law, including the impact of geopolitical tensions on international agreements, sanctions on global markets, and emerging issues related to digitalisation, climate change, and sustainability. Students study public international law alongside international commercial law, international economic law, human rights, and corporate governance while learning to apply legal principles within real-world commercial contexts. They also complete an independent legal project in their chosen specialism to develop advanced expertise in international commercial law.

The course combines academic study with practical legal training. Through opportunities such as mooting, negotiation, client interviewing, and participation in the University of Brighton Legal Clinic, students develop legal research, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills. Studying in Brighton also provides access to the city's legal community, while its proximity to London enables students to engage with institutions and organisations involved in international commercial law.
