Personal Fitness Trainers help clients achieve their health and fitness goals by designing and implementing safe and effective exercise programs for all abilities.
Using current Canadian health and wellness techniques, students can learn how to conduct physical and lifestyle assessments and use training principles to create personalized fitness programs.
Through a blend of theory and practice, students will gain new skills in the health sciences, injury prevention and care, exercise prescription and program design, strength training and adaptive communication. Students will connect with the fitness community while applying their skills during supervised practicum experiences and get a head start on their career.
Personal Fitness Trainers can find work in a wide variety of settings, including: • Multidisciplinary clinics • Rehabilitation centers • Fitness facilities • Nursing homes • Health spas • Studios • Fitness trainer entrepreneurship
