Laney College
Laney College's Associate in Arts in Geography for Transfer program is designed to prepare students for a seamless transfer with junior status and priority admission to a California State University campus to a program or major in Geography or similar major for completion of a baccalaureate degree.
Upon completion of this program a student will be able to: • Analyze and critically evaluate scientific information. • Synthesize multiple concepts integrating and connecting atmospheric, hydrologic and geologic systems and their influence on the biosphere. • Characterize geographic principals that embody climate change issues.
Geography majors go into a variety fields including planning, education, resource management, business, county, city, state, federal government, computer mapping, technical writing, field survey, conservation nonprofit development and many more.
