The research is desired to create positive change in the real world. By continuing studies as a postgraduate at Nottingham, innovative ideas and passion will directly contribute to the important work being done.
Students will be taught by active researchers and will collaborate with research groups in the university addressing the latest medical microbiology and immunological issues such as Covid-19, antimicrobial resistance, and the role of immunity in health and disease.
The course will cover key topics including introduction to immunology and microbiology, the molecular basis of bacterial and viral pathogenesis, novel immune therapeutics, and the cellular and molecular basis of innate immunity.
Upon completion of the program, students will:
acquire advanced knowledge of medical microbiology and immunology to prepare for future scientific research
gain direct experience with various molecular biology, microbial, and immunological techniques
receive training in critically evaluating published scientific papers
have the opportunity to delve deeper into selected aspects of microbiology and/or immunology through completion of a research project.
