University of Brighton - Moulsecoomb
The Chemistry MRes program offered by the institution allows students to become part of a team of researchers dedicated to addressing a range of issues, from environmental degradation to age-related illnesses, by exploring how science can improve people’s lives.
The researchers within the program are highly skilled in various areas of chemistry research, including medicinal, environmental, materials, and analytical chemistry. Participants in the program will have the opportunity to work alongside postdoctoral and other postgraduate researchers who share similar interests, under the guidance of a supervisor.
Through collaboration with their supervisor, participants will develop and execute a significant research project that presents a substantial intellectual challenge and demonstrates the practical applications of scientific research in industry. They will have the chance to showcase their creativity and initiative, while also gaining advanced knowledge of techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and electro analysis, to enhance their skills and independence as researchers.
The program also offers a journal club where participants can engage with current scientific journal articles, through presentations by guest speakers and student-led discussions.
