This two-year program will prepare students to write, modify, integrate and test computer code for software applications and includes an internship which will provide students with Canadian work experience. Students will gain experience in collaborating on the design and implementation of applications (desktop, web and mobile), implementing information security at the software and environment levels (cybersecurity), developing transactional web applications (E-commerce) and more. Students will need a post-secondary degree in a related field for admission to this program. With the Software Development: Secure Desktop, Mobile and Web Applications Attestation, students will be able to: • Use programming languages • Solve computer-related problems using algorithms • Use an object-oriented development approach • Use a database management system • Implement information security at the software and environment levels • Develop native applications with a database • Develop transactional Web applications • Develop data exchange services • Collaborate on the design and implementation of applications • Interact in a professional setting • Apply workforce integration techniques
