University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
Massachusetts is one of the world's hubs for digital technology. The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's animation and game arts program integrates digital art, design, and technology to advance the quality of digital communication and create a more understandable world.
Students will concentrate on digital animation and interactive multimedia while exploring 2- and 3-dimensional design, web design, and virtual reality. As they explore the potential of various digital media technologies, they will engage in consistent, hands-on experimentation, working with faculty members who have considerable expertise in the field.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts is a professional degree with concentrated areas of specialization, so learners will take more art courses than they would in a Bachelor of Arts program. They will also have the advantages of a university education where they can diversify their studies and expand their career opportunities.
The program curriculum emphasizes conceptual development, digital production, and creative solutions to technical and communication problems. Students will explore: • Storytelling and storyboarding • Two- and three-dimensional animation • Three-dimensional modeling • Interactive design • Game design • Virtual reality studies.
