Overview

The foundation in Health and Science offers a bridge between students' existing academic/English level and Year One of a UK undergraduate degree. Opportunities for graduates in Life Sciences, Nursing, Biology and Chemistry are vast, with global healthcare in the spotlight, and growing demand for these specialist skills. In this degree, students will learn key nursing theory and get hands-on practical experience in our superb clinical facilities and placement opportunities so they can develop the skills and confidence to care for children and young people with different health challenges. The children's nursing curriculum is carefully designed to provide the students with the theoretical knowledge required to be able to practice and communicate confidently and competently, whilst also giving them the opportunity to develop and refine their clinical skills in a safe environment before going onto clinical placement. Fundamental to this programme is assisting students to nurture strong partnerships with a child or young person and their family which is driven by effective communication and respect.
