New York Institute of Technology - Long Island (NYIT)
The B.S. in Construction Engineering gives students a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering design and management principles. They'll learn how to apply design theory and practices to produce solutions that support public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
As the only B.S. Construction program offered in the New York tri-state area, students' studies will include engineering mechanics and graphics, survey and geomatics, construction materials, building construction, concrete and steel structure design, construction management, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, and project management.
They will gain additional learning experiences from rich resources that include our Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, engineering clubs (ASME, SAE, NSBE), and undergraduate research opportunities alongside faculty members as part of our Undergraduate Research & Entrepreneurial Program (UREP).
In students' senior year, they'll complete a capstone design project using the skills developed throughout the curriculum that address economic issues appropriate to the effective practice of engineering and showcasing their written language and oral communication skills.
