Overview

A degree in Education is a dynamic and stimulating opportunity to study the individual, social, and political forces that shape education, in all its forms. For students who are interested in how and why people learn, both formally and informally, in the UK or abroad, then studying Education will challenge and excite them in equal measure.

Studying Education at Liverpool Hope University will help students to develop academically as they engage with evidence and research, professionally as they link theory to practice, preparing them for a wide variety of work contexts, and personally as they think more deeply about their own values and aspirations. It is structured around the four key disciplines of education: psychology, sociology, history, and philosophy. Each discipline provides a different lens through which key ideas and issues in education can be understood.

Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries and has become one of its biggest sources of employment. Liverpool Hope University's Tourism degree looks at tourism from both management and academic perspectives. It looks at issues such as the structure of the tourism industry; impacts of tourism on people and the environment; the emergence of new forms of tourism to rival the package holiday; tourism destination management and global tourism development.

Liverpool Hope University's degree curriculum embeds material which aims to not only provide an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge on tourism, but also to refine critical thinking and develop students' key transferable skills. The university works closely with a wide range of tourism stakeholders to ensure that students gain insight into the ongoing management and delivery of a successful tourism destination.
