2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - Sport and Exercise Psychology

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - Sport and Exercise Psychology: The Master of Science - Sport and Exercise Psychology programme moves beyond the fundamentals of psychological science by focusing on significant areas in the applied contexts of sport and exercise while providing a critical understanding of the course. Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) through Accreditation Through Partnership, the programme is designed and delivered with a view to preparing students for practitioner career pathways or doctoral research and academic roles in sport and exercise psychology and sport and exercise science, with a focus on psychology.
