Master of Laws - International Business Law

The LLM International Business Law programme is designed for graduates from any discipline, aiming to develop critically aware and professionally skilled global citizens with a strong understanding of international business law. It provides an opportunity to build specialist knowledge of the legal aspects of cross-border business activities, examining how international business is regulated from the perspectives of traders, corporations, individuals, and entrepreneurs.

The course explores business models that operate across borders and addresses how commercial disputes are resolved when agreements involve multiple parties from different jurisdictions. It also considers complex global issues related to digital business models and data, alongside the growing role of artificial intelligence in legal systems that operate both nationally and internationally.

Students are encouraged to engage with contemporary topics involving technology, law, algorithms, and ethics, while developing a broader understanding of how business and law intersect. This includes critical engagement with disciplines such as economics, philosophy, and business ethics.

Teaching is delivered by a team of active researchers with expertise in areas including international business law, competition law, dispute resolution, and corporate law. The team’s research specialisms also cover the intersection of technology and business law, international and national dispute settlement, European Union legal capital rules, and the impact of digitisation on intellectual property law.
