Double Degree - Bachelor of Arts - Anthropology & Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance (Optional Co-op)

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) degree, the student can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if the student is interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. For those sports marketing ignites their passion, they can major in kinesiology and marketing.

The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees.

Finance is the study of financial decision making in investment, portfolio management and corporate finance as well as managing risk in a volatile economy. Finance incorporates the basics of economics, accounting and statistics through quantitative and qualitative methods.

Finance students will study areas such as corporate and personal finance, investments, global finance, financial technology (FinTech), Financial Institutions and Markets, and Derivatives. They will develop skills using excel, statistical, trading and portfolio management software and draw from fields such as economics, accounting, and social responsibility as students prepare for career opportunities in the areas of banking, investments, international finance, trading, risk management and more. They will also have the opportunity for hands-on financial trading through Student Managed Investment Fund.

Anthropology studies the diversity of human life in every part of the world. Long-term ethnographic fieldwork is the hallmark of the anthropological approach to studying the human condition and allows people to see how today's society fits into a larger context.

Contemporary anthropology examines the material, social, and cultural conditions of human behavior and life from a “locally global” perspective.

Anthropology will expose students to a variety of different cultures. At the same time, they will learn to examine their life from an anthropological perspective. Students will learn how to explore and understand radically different contexts in both their own and other cultures.

Two elements distinguish anthropology: an intensely comparative, wide-ranging view of human society and culture, and a strong desire to know how individuals in specific cultures make sense of the world and respond to its challenges.

Anthropologists are committed to understanding common aspects of human social life, despite apparent differences. They typically spend long periods of time doing field research where they interact with people in their environment to gain cultural understanding.
