Master of Laws - Law and Technology

The LLM in Law and Technology at Essex Law School provides students with the opportunity to analyze the impact of modern technologies on the application of traditional legal principles and the ways in which challenges raised by modern technologies can and should be addressed by the law. Students gain an understanding of how modern technologies affect the law and society, and they have the option to select from a range of modules that incorporate aspects of technology, enabling them to effectively specialize in either commercial or human rights law, alongside coursework in law and technology.

This course equips students with specialized knowledge that is invaluable in today’s technology-driven society. It opens up a wide range of career opportunities, such as roles within technology companies, positions as legal technologists, or opportunities within traditional law firms, corporations, or NGOs seeking to hire a technology-savvy lawyer or technology policy advisor.
