Master of Arts - Education - Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

The MA Education offers an in-depth exploration of education’s role in society, alongside the theories, policies and practices that shape it. The programme provides flexible study options, allowing students to complete a broad-based master’s degree or specialise in a particular area.

It supports professional development across early years, schools, further and higher education, and community learning. Teaching is informed by current developments in the field and delivered by an experienced academic team, preparing graduates for advanced professional, leadership and management roles.

The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) pathway within the MA Education explores how languages are learned, the needs of learners from diverse linguistic backgrounds and current pedagogical approaches in English language teaching. This pathway is designed for individuals seeking to develop advanced knowledge and understanding of language acquisition and effective strategies for supporting multilingual learners.
