3-Term Pathway - Pre-Masters - Law and Social Science - Transfer to Master of Arts - Socio-Cultural Anthropology

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the Durham University International Study Centre located at Queen's Campus, in Stockton on Tees. After completing the pathway, students will progress into a program at Durham University. In a Pre-Masters program students will study courses related to their intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance their skills as a student. Advancement into their intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

This Pre-Masters provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency and study skills students need to progress to degree study at the University of Durham, Durham City campus in a range of subjects related to science and engineering.

After completing this pathway, students will transfer to the Master of Arts in Anthropology. This course is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in a subject other than anthropology who would like to prepare for research in socio-cultural anthropology or for a career requiring expertise in anthropology.

High profile social anthropologist researchers at Durham, with experience of conducting fieldwork all around the world, introduce students to both classical and contemporary writing and research in the discipline. There is equal emphasis on theoretical and methodological questions, and plenty of opportunities to apply this new knowledge to issues of pressing social concern.
