The BSc (Hons) Marketing and Social Media at the University of West London explores how social media marketing functions as a key tool within digital marketing, enabling users to advertise, communicate and review products and services to increase brand awareness, expand customer bases and improve customer relationships.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram have experienced significant growth as marketing tools and represent one of the fastest-growing fields in marketing.

Throughout the course, students will gain knowledge and understanding of various theories and practices to evaluate and implement marketing strategies. They will also develop reflective skills to assess their own and others’ professional practice, alongside independent learning skills to support future development.

The degree aims to prepare students for employment as marketing professionals, typically starting in junior roles, with opportunities to progress into higher management positions as experience develops.

The course also enables students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities, including starting their own business or consultancy services in marketing and social media.
