2-Semester Pathway - International Foundation Year - Science and Engineering - Transfer to Master of Mathematics (Honours) - Mathematics

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In your International Foundation Year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

In the International Foundation Year in Sciences & Engineering, you will explore and begin to understand the power of engineering and science in the real world. While you begin to learn the technical aspects of your desired degree program you will also be provided with a critical outlook and approach employers want in your chosen field.

From the foundations to the forefront of research, you’ll gain a thorough grounding in the theories and techniques that underlie modern mathematics in this Master of Mathematics.

You’ll learn from experts whose research is making a world-changing impact in areas ranging from smart materials and predicting floods to the behaviour of queues, social networks and infectious disease control. You study modules based on the latest research, including mathematical biology, partial differential equations, numerical analysis, probability and mathematical physics. The use of industry-standard software (such as MATLAB, Python and R) develops your analytical and modelling skills. You’ll graduate with the knowledge needed to take your career in any direction you choose.

During your integrated Masters year, you’ll develop new research skills – particularly relevant if you're interested in going on to a research career at universities or in industry.
