English Language Preparation + 2-Term Pathway - International Foundation Year - Life Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Nutrition

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the University of Surrey International Study Centre followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Surrey. In your international foundation year you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

International Foundation Year

The Life Sciences International Foundation Year leads to a wide range of degrees in biology and chemistry-related subjects at the University of Surrey. During the International Foundation Year you will study a core unit of general subject skills, and subject-specific units, which are carefully designed for your academic development.

English Language Preparation

The English Language Preparation program is available for students who need to improve their English language skills in order to reach the required level for your programme at the University of Surrey International Study Centre. After successful completion of the English language programme, you will advance into your international foundation year.

Degree Program

Upon completion of the pathway portion of this program, students will enter the Veterinary Medical Science program at the University of Surrey. As a student in the BSc Nutrition course, you’ll learn about food and the nutrients it contains, how the body uses them and how they relate to health and disease. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding as to how the body assimilates and uses nutrients in the body. Building on a sound evidence base, you’ll fully appreciate how human nutrition impacts on health and the development of disease. This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a commercial, public health or research-orientated career, and it will give you the core skills and competencies required from a modern nutritionist. The BSc Nutrition course offers a range of optional modules and is available as a three or four-year course, depending on whether you choose to take a Professional Training placement. This course is also accredited by the Association for Nutrition, the UK professional body for nutrition. After completing it you’ll be eligible for direct entry into the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists.
