The Child and Youth Care (CYCC) Diploma prepares students to work with at-risk children, youth and their families. Students learn how to make a difference in the life of a child or adolescent who may have suffered abuse, neglect, addiction, family breakdown or who may have behavioural or learning difficulties. Students put theory into practice through two practicums. Students wishing to complete the CYCC Diploma must apply for admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care (BA CYC). Students may graduate with the diploma after completing the first two years of the 4-year degree program. Graduates from the diploma program receive block-transfer credit toward a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care at Douglas College, University of Victoria, University of the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island University.
