2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Football Studies

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

Football is more than just a beautiful game - it’s a global industry, a social force, and a powerful tool for public health.Through a diverse range of modules, the students will explore the industry from multiple angles. Topics include coaching, performance analysis, media, marketing, business and football's impact on society.

This is a multidisciplinary course that bridges academic theory with real-world practice. The university is located near renowned football institutions like the English Football League HQ and Preston North End. As a result, can offer professional placements through our partners.

In small, interactive classes, the students will begin with a core set of modules that build a strong foundation in football knowledge. As their studies progress, they will have the freedom to specialise in areas such as coaching, management, or performance analysis. You can tailor this course to their personal goals.

By graduation, the students will have developed the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience they need to succeed in the football industry.
