Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Entrepreneurship and Law

The BA (Hons) Entrepreneurship and Law programme provides a comprehensive understanding of the English legal system and its practical applications, while developing skills relevant to the rapidly evolving global business environment.

The course covers key areas including business theory, enterprise concepts, constitutional law, and human rights, and incorporates industry input through live projects and briefs to enable practical application of learned skills to solve real-world business challenges.

Students have the opportunity to put their skills into practice through an optional Entrepreneurship placement year between the second and third years of study, supported by guidance in securing and completing placements. Alternatively, internships during summer breaks provide additional professional experience. Practical, hands-on learning is supported by specialist facilities and an expert teaching team, fostering the development of subject-specific skills and knowledge.

The programme incorporates engagement in real or simulated legal practice to build a wide range of professional competencies, including case preparation, mooting (presenting legal issues against opposing counsel in a mock court case), interviewing, and negotiation.

Entrepreneurship modules are delivered through diverse learning methods, including formal lectures with occasional expert speakers, tutor-led and student-led seminars featuring discussions, critical reading analysis, presentations, group work, debates, case study evaluation, computer lab exercises, practical analyses, and formative assessment. Tutorials provide one-to-one support for assignment development, while work experience projects and self-directed study further enhance practical understanding and skill development.
