Associate of Applied Science - Engineering Technology - Mechatronics Engineering Technology

The AAS-ET two-year degree program with a concentration in Mechatronics at APSU is part of the Siemens Level 2 Mechatronics certification program. All graduating students have the option to sit for the Siemens Level 2 Mechatronics Systems certification exam. Additionally, the AASET degree program culminates in a capstone project that draws on skills and knowledge gained in the program.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS-ET) in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Mechatronics will prepare for employment in the manufacturing industrial sector at the technician level. With an AAS-ET degree in the Mechatronics concentration, students will be specialized in industrial automation, and the job prospects for this type of technician are strong. Virtually every modern manufacturing facility utilizes industrial automation, and these companies need employees to assist in the service and setup of that equipment. With small class sizes and hands-on learning instruction, APSU offers a rounded preparation for a career in Mechatronics.

Students entering the AAS-ET degree program typically have interests in electronics, industrial robotics, mechanical systems, and engineering in general. An interest in digital electronics concepts is also a plus. Any student with hobbies that modify, build, or repair electromechanical systems will fit well within the program.
