1-Semester Pathway Pre-Masters - Business, Media and Social Sciences - Transfer to Master of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies

This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the International Study Centre at the University of Sussex followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Sussex. In the International Year One programme, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon the successful completion of the pathway program.

The Pre-Masters in Business, Media and Social Sciences, provides a route to a variety of postgraduate degrees at the University of Sussex. English language and career skills are combined with subject-specific modules such as social sciences, cultural studies, and a variety of business skills such as accounting, finance and business management to provide you with a strong foundation for your chosen business, media and social sciences degree.

Take a cultural studies approach to the media. In the Master of Arts in Media and Cultural Studies, you'll engage with key theoretical debates that bridge the arts and social sciences.

Study the media (the press, broadcasting, film and digital media) as institutions, texts and systems of representation. You’ll explore the media’s political, social and cultural power in everyday life and the public sphere. You’ll: • develop a skills portfolio in critical analysis, creative thinking and research methods

• choose from a wide variety of options, allowing you to set your own intellectual agenda • gain methodological knowledge to research a wide range of media.
