2-Term Pathway - International Incorporated Master's (IIM) - Continue to Master of Science - Sustainability and Renewables

The Pre-Masters program is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee. This may be due to the grades achieved in their undergraduate degree, their current qualifications not being equivalent to a UK undergraduate degree, or a desire to improve their academic and English language skills.

The Pre-Masters course will equip students with the advanced skills necessary to complete their postgraduate study at the University of Dundee. They can choose to study over one or two terms, depending on their academic qualifications and English language level. The one-term option offers a fast track route to their chosen degree course and is studied over three months. The two-term option is studied over six months and provides additional academic English and subject-related support.

Sustainability and Renewables Students will explore the technological, economic, legal, and governmental policy aspects that are driving renewable energy. They will gain an integrated and critical understanding of renewable and clean energy technologies and their associated issues.

They will examine the role of international and national law and policy in the area of sustainability, studying various forms and sources of renewable energy, including wind, marine, and solar energy, as well as resource assessment, energy production, delivery, consumption, and storage.

Additionally, students will acquire skills for formulating, reviewing, analyzing, and communicating insights in the area of energy governance.

The program will also cover the low carbon transition, with particular reference to renewables, preparing students to lead in thinking and practice regarding vital aspects of the ongoing low carbon energy transition at all levels of energy governance.
