University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours)

The RMIT Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours) develops students’ understanding of the processes behind the production and distribution of electricity. The program emphasises applying theoretical knowledge to real-world problem-solving through practical laboratory work and design-based projects.

In this professionally accredited degree, students gain the skills to design, develop, and oversee the manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems. They also work with systems related to the generation, distribution, utilisation, and control of electric power, as well as electronic and control systems used in domestic and industrial applications.

Students build advanced technical and design capabilities while specialising in areas such as energy conversion, power systems, renewable energy, high-voltage equipment, and control engineering. Work-integrated learning opportunities provide valuable industry experience, including design-and-build projects, participation in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge, industry-based capstone projects, and work placements in Australia or overseas.
