3-Term Pathway - International Year One in Computer Science - Progress to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Computer Science with Cyber Security (with a year in industry)

An International Year One combines degree preparation with content similar to the first year of an undergraduate degree. Upon successfully passing the course, students will progress straight to the second year of their chosen degree.

This approach saves time and money, allowing students to still graduate in the standard three years.

It’s also a great opportunity to earn a degree that is highly respected by employers. In fact, York ranks in the top 30 in the UK for graduate prospects (Complete University Guide 2025). This is due to the University of York consistently ranking within the UK’s top 20 universities and being renowned worldwide for its excellent research and teaching.

During the International Year One course, students will have the chance to: • Improve their English • Develop their academic skills • Deepen their subject knowledge • Benefit from expert teaching by friendly tutors • Enjoy dedicated wellbeing support • Meet other students from around the world in an international environment
