Master of Science - Management and Finance

The MSc Management and Finance is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in international management within the finance sector.

The programme equips students with the ability to make both strategic and tactical business decisions, while building core competencies in managerial finance, leadership, and the management of teams in a global business environment.

In the initial stage of the course, students explore the key challenges faced by global organisations, gaining insight into the complexity of leadership and management practices. This stage focuses on developing skills in organisation, communication, and teamwork, particularly within diverse cultural contexts.

The second stage introduces advanced topics in international financial management, including investment strategies, Capital Asset Pricing, and the financial dimensions of mergers and acquisitions. Students also examine foreign exchange risk and dividend policy in an international context. Alongside this, they study international business strategy and develop research skills in preparation for their major project. Additional areas of study include personal and institutional portfolio management, covering asset classes such as shares, bonds, property, and commodities, as well as fund management principles.

The final stage centres on a major project tailored to individual career goals. Students can choose from a work-based project linked to their current employment, a consultancy project addressing a real-world business issue, or a traditional dissertation involving in-depth research. This flexibility allows students to specialise in an area aligned with their intended career path.
