Double Degree - Bachelor of Science - General Major Sciences & Bachelor of Business Administration - Marketing (Optional Co-op)

With a combined Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Management (B.Sc./B.Mgt.) degree, the student can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if the student is interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites their passion, they can major in kinesiology and marketing.

Bachelor of Management - Marketing

Marketing, a combination of art and science, is the core of any business. It helps identify consumer needs; guides the development of new products, services or communications strategies ensuring products and services are available where and when consumers want them; determines prices; and has the ability to adjust all of these for domestic and international markets. Almost one-third of North Americans are employed in marketing or marketing-related positions.

Marketers are the crucial link between an organization, their suppliers and their end-users, building relationships that benefit all parties. Marketers must have a strong understanding of the customer, whether an individual or an organization so they can effectively advise on all aspects of marketing.

Students learn to balance project experience with the latest theoretical concepts and study courses like consumer behaviour, advertising and promotions, managing responsibly in a global environment, economics, sports marketing, communications and social media, cross-cultural marketing, and statistics. They also draw from fields such as history, English, political science, economics and sociology.

Bachelor of Science - General Major Sciences

A general major in the sciences, unlike a single discipline major, allows students to customize their course selection to their interests and abilities. Where students compromise depth of focus in one area, they gain breadth of knowledge in a few key areas, thus increasing their flexibility. This multidisciplinary approach provides access to the "big picture" or the wider context of any subject area. Conversely, the courses students choose can enhance their focus and provide a cross-discipline perspective on one particular theme.
