2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Archaeology and Anthropology

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

In this course, the students be able to combine cultural and biological anthropology with archaeology to study human cultures from the present day back to the evolutionary origins of humanity. This produces graduates with highly sought-after transferable skills including critical analysis, communication and collaboration.

This course benefits from state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. These include dedicated human bone labs, an archaeological science lab with areas for processing finds, a soil flotation unit, an imaging suite with 3D scanners and a suite of cutting-edge geophysical and excavation equipment.
