English Language Preparation + 2-Term Pathway - International Foundation Year - Life Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Sport and Exercise Science

Program Description This program consists of a pathway program offered by StudyGroup at the University of Surrey International Study Centre followed by entry into a university program offered at the University of Surrey. In your international foundation year you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program.

International Foundation Year

The Life Sciences International Foundation Year leads to a wide range of degrees in biology and chemistry-related subjects at the University of Surrey. During the International Foundation Year you will study a core unit of general subject skills, and subject-specific units, which are carefully designed for your academic development.

English Language Preparation

The English Language Preparation program is available for students who need to improve their English language skills in order to reach the required level for your program at the University of Surrey International Study Centre. After successful completion of the English language program, you will advance into your international foundation year.

Degree Program

Upon completion of the pathway portion of this program, you will enter the Sport and Exercise Science program at the University of Surrey. You will be introduced to a variety of key transferable skills and will study several different topics such as the theoretical knowledge and practical application of scientific principles relating to physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, biomechanics and psychology, to maximise sports performance and improve general health and wellbeing through exercise. The University of Surrey's BSc Sport and Exercise Science course builds on the university's multidisciplinary strengths in these areas. Students will benefit from the exceptional facilities based at our £36 million Surrey Sports Park and extracurricular opportunities to assist with athlete support, patient exercise referral, research project development and delivery, educational workshops and outreach projects. The course is endorsed by the Register of Exercise Professionals, enabling you to complete gym instructor, personal training and exercise referral qualifications by undertaking vocational fitness assessments.
