Specialist and senior biomedical scientists are key contributors to modern healthcare, including disease diagnosis, monitoring of therapy and research into disease mechanisms. They are in great demand both within the NHS and private hospital laboratories. There is a focus on developing laboratory and other scientific skills, giving students the opportunity to learn key experimental techniques and develop essential experimental, data handling and reporting skills required in biomedical, biological and other careers.
