Master of Science - Mental Health Nursing (L506)

Students can become specialized mental health nurses with an MSc in Mental Health Nursing. This program is suitable for individuals from any academic background and will equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to become competent and compassionate nurses. Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to register with the NMC and practice as registered Mental Health Nurses.

Taking a person-centered approach, this degree in Mental Health Nursing prepares students to be critically aware, creative, and communicative nursing practitioners. The practical and dynamic nature of the course allows them to build confidence both in the community and in the classroom.

This two-year course focuses on both theory and practice, enabling students to apply what they have learned at the university. They will complete various placements, working directly with individuals in a range of settings, including homes and communities. Through these opportunities, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to care for diverse populations while implementing a person-centered and informed approach.

Additionally, students will benefit from the simulation suite on campus, providing them with the option to practice in a real-world simulated environment before embarking on their placements.
