In this two-year diploma program, students will learn the fundamentals of digital and analog electronics, combined with a foundation in computer technology. This program provides relevant hands—on laboratory work to give them the practical experience, as well as theoretical knowledge of electronic devices, computer programming and diagnostic techniques that the electronics industry values.

Computer Engineering Technology and Electronics Engineering Technology have a common first semester with this program, which allows students easy transfer before the second semester.

Throughout this program students will develop the following skills: • Analyze, interpret, modify and prepare electrical and electronics drawings, layouts and reports • Analyze and solve routine technical problems related to electronics engineering • Troubleshoot electronic systems and perform test procedures • Assemble, modify and test electronic circuits, equipment and systems in accordance with job requirements and standards • Maintain and repair electronic equipment and systems following modern operational guidelines • Analyze and test circuits by applying appropriate measurement techniques • Analyze and troubleshoot control systems • Apply relevant shop practices in compliance with safety policies and current regulations for electronics engineering workplaces • Assist in implementing quality control and assurance programs

Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a full-time paid position completed between two academic semesters.
