Bachelor of Science (Honours) - International Hospitality Management with Placement (N871)

The BSc (Hons) International Hospitality Management at the University of West London covers both practical and managerial aspects of the hospitality world, giving students a comprehensive knowledge base as well as crucial transferable skills, such as customer service and analytics.

The course will equip students to understand this fast-paced industry, opening up a range of career paths and roles within international hotel chains, hospitality organisations, food business operations and more.

Developed with support from a wide network of sector professionals, the curriculum has a strong focus on technology and sustainability. As well as delivering the skills needed for hospitality managers of the future, students will learn why managing a hospitality organisation is an ever-changing role and why hospitality professionals need to be nimble and adaptive.

The course offers opportunities to discuss current issues and examine solutions from a sector perspective. Students will also explore topical aspects of the international hospitality industry, including:

• the increased use of big data and artificial intelligence • organisations that focus on the customer experience • gaining loyalty to deliver profit

Upon graduating, students will have the business acumen to understand, use and present information and data, while having the operational knowledge needed to run a hospitality business.

These connections can provide opportunities for students to gain work experience and build their professional network.

The BSc (Hons) International Hospitality Management at the University of West London offers study options, including the regular full-time 3-year route or a placement option taken between Levels 5 and 6. The placement route is open to UK and international students to develop their employability skills, professional development and career prospects. Students must complete a 50-week full-time placement to reach a total of 1750 hours, including leave.

Placements are coordinated with the Placements Office. While students are responsible for finding their own placement, a placement coordinator and placement tutors will assist them in preparing for the placement and support them throughout.
