The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the UK. The PMP will allow students to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. Students will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with students on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow students to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in UK postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations. Master of Arts - Digital Media and Society MA Digital Media and Society offers a comprehensive understanding of current developments in digital media and their wider social significance. MA Digital Media and Society would be suitable for those who are interested in the historical expansion of communications media, the institutionalisation of media systems, various audiences uses of the media, and the implications of new media for cultural life. Students will have the opportunity to get involved in the Loughborough Students' Union media centre, which houses television and radio stations, a magazine and photography editing facilities.
