4-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Business, Law and Social Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - German and Criminology (Honours Select 50:50)

If students split their University of Liverpool degree between German and another subject area, they will study a German language module, at beginners or advanced level, and a cultural module per semester, alongside two other modules in the other subject. If students combine German with a non-language subject, they will spend the Year Abroad in a German speaking country as an assistant in a school, as a student at a university or on a work placement.

Studying Criminology as 50% of the degree gives students a thorough understanding of the role of criminology in society. Year One introduces them to criminology and serves as a foundation for the second and third years. By Year Three, students will be able to study from a range of areas that include: Crimes of the powerful; Community and public involvement in crime and criminal justice; The risk society; Criminal victimization; Youth crime, youth justice and social control. In Year Three students may wish to study for their dissertation if students have completed the research methods modules. Alternatively, students can take the applied social research module and carry out a piece of research commissioned by a local agency.
