The LLM Human Rights Law program critically analyzes the domestic and international impact of the major UN and European Conventions – both civil and political rights as well as socio-economic and cultural rights. It considers the importance and impact of human rights on specific groups such as refugees and individuals with disabilities.

Since the end of the Second World War, global and regional human rights treaties have infused domestic legal codes, reconfiguring many civil law and common law principles. Human rights are now integral to many areas of law and policy. This program aims to provide students with a critical exploration of the theory and legal rules applicable to international human rights treaties and their domestic counterparts.

The LLM Human Rights Law program offers a high degree of flexibility, allowing students to customize their studies to meet their own professional and/or employment needs or interests. Modules available include Human Rights, International Refugee Law, Health and Disability, Consent to Treatment, International Humanitarian Law, and Global Justice.
