3.5-Term Pre-Master's for Business, Law and Social Sciences - Continue to Master of Laws - Public International Law

Program Description For students who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at City, University of London. The course length is determined mainly by English language level (UKVI IELTS score).

Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If the course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.

Master of Laws - Public International Law

The specialist Master of Laws (LLM) in Public International Law concentrates on the development of a thorough and critical understanding of Public International Law, the law governing the interaction of states. The last decade or so has seen tremendous challenges for International Law including matters relating to armed conflict, financial and commercial relations, intellectual property and human rights. This programme gives students the opportunity to trace and evaluate some of these practical and theoretical developments against the backdrop of global affairs and students benefit from the practical experience of leading practitioners and academics. Global governance, human rights, the future of the planet and issues of war and peace will be addressed as will the impact of public international law on transnational finance, commerce and trade.
